Next Second Saturday Is January 9th! Don't miss it!

Last month kicked off the first East Passyunk Avenue Second Saturday event, which will be held from 6-9pm on the second Saturday of each month. What started as an effort by a few East Passyunk merchants to attract evening shoppers has grown to over 25 stores participating on a 5 block stretch of East Passyunk Avenue between Dickinson and McKean Streets.

Some shops have art openings, some have a DJ or live performances, some have complimentary food and wine, and some have sales or special demonstrations. Shops range from salons and specialty food stores to clothing and coffee shops. But they all have one thing in common – a dedication to keeping the Avenue open late.

“Second Saturday is an invitation to Philadelphians and visitors to come and see all that is new and all that is now available on East Passyunk Ave. This event has grown from just a few to over 25 participants, and its diversity in offerings makes it a worthwhile trip to the area. As the old saying goes, it takes a village to raise a child and this community is committed to making East Passyunk the best it can be,” said James McManaman of Absolute Abstract, a new store on EPA.

Christmas Concert at Black n Brew

Come here the inspirational holiday sounds of South Philly's own, Philip De Luca. Phillip has been blind and mentally disabled since birth, however his music has lit up his family's hearts for years. He learned to play by ear at the age of 3 and can play well over 15 different instruments, his best being the accordion. He has yet to be stumped on any song, and throughly enjoys playing Christmas and Winter tunes. Philip De Luca, although disabled, is a musical gift to the world. The music will begin 4:30!! Our kitchen and coffee bar will be open as usual during the concert!! No admission!!!!!! Kick off 2nd Saturday at Black n Brew with some holiday inspiration and warm drinks as you venture down the avenue to take part in all the festivities!!

Absolute Abstract is featuring local Artist Bryan Smith November 14th on East Passyunk

Join us at Absolute Abstract "The Art of Frameless Art" , 1616 East Passyunk Avenue for the November 2nd Saturday. We may be the new kids on the block, but we love it here and are thrilled to be participating in this awesome monthly event!

This month we are featuring local artist Bryan Smith from 6-9PM. Bryan will be painting live at the event, and showcasing many of his pieces of art. Bryan is a self-taught artist, who recently spent 6 years in the US Army. His artistic influence includes Surrealism and his favorite artist is Salvatore Dali.

We will have light snacks, wine, and Bryan's Amigo "Psyco Steve the DJ" spinning music.

Black n Brew

Black N Brew will be participating along with the Avenue in this month's 2nd Saturday on November 14th. We will be open our normal hours and then some! Bill McConney will be performing live music beginning at 5pm. Bill McConney has become a fixture on the tri-state area music scene. Drawing influences from the likes of Cat Stevens, Nick Drake, Dave Matthews, and Jeff Buckley; his songwriting has been described as vulnerably honest.

Jimmy Bay the spiritual consultant of the Avenue will be reading palms and cards from 6-8pm. If you would like a glimpse into your future or your true self, Jimmy Bay is your man. Jimmy will be doing 20 minute readings for 20 bucks!! Full coffee bar and dinner menu will be available!
